Is there a book you're looking for but cannot find?
Hire one of our finders to track it down. The fee is fixed and quoted up front from the age of the book, how much you already know about it, and how quickly you need it. Every search is confidential.
Three fixed search tiers
The fee covers the search work, not the book. If we find it, we send you the price and condition first — you decide whether to buy.
Standard Search
£45
In-print and widely traded titles. We work our UK trade network and confirm condition before you commit.
Typically 7–14 days
Matches your current answers
Rare Search
£145
Out-of-print, scarce editions and mid-century printings. Dealer outreach, auction watch and edition verification.
Typically 3–6 weeks
Deep Archive Hunt
£295
Antiquarian, unidentified or near-untraceable books. Archive, catalogue and private-collection research by a specialist finder.
Typically 6–12 weeks
How a search works
- 1
You tell us what you remember
An ISBN is ideal, but a title fragment, a cover memory or an approximate decade is enough to start.
- 2
We confirm the tier and fee
Your answers price the search instantly. We confirm it by email before any work begins.
- 3
A finder goes looking
UK trade networks, dealer contacts, auction watch and — at archive level — catalogue and private-collection research.
- 4
You approve the copy
We send the edition, condition grade and price. Nothing is charged for the book until you say yes.
Already know it's out there somewhere? Check the shelves first — we hold 250 hand-graded titles, and there's no fee for finding one there.

Book finding questions
- How is the fee decided?
- It is a fixed fee, not an hourly rate. We quote from three things: how old the book is, how much you already know about it (an ISBN is far easier than a half-remembered cover), and how quickly you need it. The form prices your search instantly.
- Does the fee include the book itself?
- No. The fee covers the search work. If we find your book we send you the price and condition first, and you decide whether to buy it.
- What if you can't find it?
- If a Standard Search comes back empty we refund the fee in full. Rare and Deep Archive searches involve committed specialist research, so we credit half the fee against any future order instead.
- Is the search confidential?
- Completely. Book finding requests are handled by one finder and are never shared, published or added to a marketing list.
