1. Who we are

The Site is operated by, and contracts are formed with:

“Books by Murando” is a trading name of MOTOR PARTS MURANDO LIMITED. In these Terms, “we”, “us” and “our” means MOTOR PARTS MURANDO LIMITED. “You” means the person placing an order. Contact: hello@booksbymurando.co.uk.

2. When a contract is formed

• Browsing the Site or adding items to your basket does not create a contract.
• When you place an order you make an offer to buy the goods.
• We accept your offer and a binding contract is formed only when we send you an order confirmation email. Until then we may decline or cancel the order (for example if the item is no longer available or there is an obvious pricing error).

3. Pricing and VAT

• All prices shown on the Site are in pounds sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable at the prevailing rate.
• We reserve the right to correct obvious pricing errors, even after an order has been placed. If we do so we will contact you and give you the option to cancel.
• Delivery charges (if any) are shown at checkout and are additional to the product price unless stated otherwise.

4. Payment

• Payment is taken at the time of order via the payment methods offered at checkout.
• We use a regulated third-party payment processor. We do not store your full card details.
• By placing an order you confirm that the payment method used is yours or that you have authority to use it.

5. Pre-loved stock and condition grading

• Many of the books we sell are pre-loved (second-hand).
• Every pre-loved book is inspected and graded by hand before it is listed. Condition grades (for example New, Very Good, Good, Well Read) describe the physical state of that specific copy.
• Pre-loved books are sold as seen and as described. Minor signs of previous ownership consistent with the stated grade are to be expected and do not constitute a fault.

6. Availability

• All items are subject to availability. Because much of our stock is unique pre-loved copies, we cannot guarantee that an item will still be available by the time you complete checkout.
• If an item becomes unavailable after you place an order we will notify you as soon as possible and refund any payment taken for that item.

7. Cancellation and returns

Your legal right to cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)

If you are a consumer you have a legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving any reason.

Our additional 30-day returns promise

In addition to your legal rights, we offer a 30-day returns window from the date you receive the goods. Full details of how to return items, who pays return postage, and the conditions that apply are set out in our Returns & Refunds Policy.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (including the right to goods that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described).

8. Delivery

Delivery options, estimated timescales, prices and what happens if a parcel is lost or damaged are set out in our Delivery & Shipping Policy. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery (or attempted delivery) to the address you supplied.

9. Data privacy

MOTOR PARTS MURANDO LIMITED is the data controller for personal data collected through the Site and in connection with your orders.

We collect only the personal data necessary to process and fulfil your order, provide customer support, and (where you have given consent) send marketing communications. This typically includes your name, email address, delivery address, order history, and payment confirmation (we never store full card details).

We share personal data only with:

• our regulated payment processor, to take payment, and
• our delivery partners, to deliver your order.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We do not build advertising profiles from your reading or purchase history.

You have rights under UK data protection law, including the right to access, correct, erase or restrict the processing of your personal data, and the right to object to certain processing. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

10. Liability

• Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
• Subject to the above, we are not liable for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or any indirect or consequential loss arising under or in connection with these Terms or any order.
• Our total liability to you in respect of any order is limited to the total price paid for that order (including delivery charges).

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.

12. Complaints

If you have a complaint, please contact us first at hello@booksbymurando.co.uk or support@booksbymurando.co.uk and we will do our best to resolve it.

If you are a consumer and remain dissatisfied you may also contact Citizens Advice or the relevant UK consumer body for independent guidance.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the version in force on the date you place the order. The current version is always available on the Site.
